LEARN THE PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN TO DEVELOP INTRIGUING ILLUSTRATIONS THAT ARE PERSONALIZED & TELL A STORY.
As artists and designers we strive to translate the art as we see it in our minds into a physical form. A work of art becomes an illustration when the ideas of a story are incorporated. But what exactly does it mean to tell a story through illustration?
This course will explore different ways of designing an illustration to tell a story, from initial thumbnails/studies, final sketches, and finished painted illustration. You will learn how to implement principles of design to create visually stunning illustrations that use both positive and negative space, harmonious color palettes, and interesting compositions that make the viewer's eye dance around the image. The most fun will be putting your own personal touches into your illustrations based on your reflections, hobbies, and memories!
