Andrew Comeau, a Merrimack Valley resident and native, is a practicing artist and art educator. He received his BFA in Painting from the Massachusetts College Of Art and Design and his MAT in Art Education at Tufts University.

 

As an artist, he enjoys spending time in his studio at Western Avenue creating paintings, drawings, and mixed media works. Along with teaching Portfolio Development and summer intensives at Refuge, he is also the drawing, painting, and studio foundations teacher at Andover High School. 

 

His teaching philosophy is focused on a student-centered approach, where students learn to develop their voice, ideas, and style that are unique to their own identity and experiences. His work at Refuge over the past couple of years has helped him to grow and develop as an arts educator. He appreciates working with students from all over the local area and helping them to develop their artistic voice and practice. 

 

Andrew is a former student of Nikki Giraffo from Central Catholic High School '12.
